Who is responsible for your information

Webify is a sole proprietorship run by Ethan Watson in Benoni, Gauteng, South Africa. For the purposes of POPIA, Webify is the responsible party for the personal information described below. You can reach us at webify.watson@gmail.com or on WhatsApp at +27 66 023 7386.

What we collect

We only collect what we need to build and quote your website:

• Your name, email address and password when you create a Webify account. If you sign in with Google instead, we receive your name and the email address on your Google account.
• Your answers to the Webify Website Brief, which may include details about your business, your services, your customers and how you want your website to work.
• Payment references such as proof of the initiation payment or project instalments.
• Basic technical records, such as pages visited, needed to keep the site secure and working.

Why we process it

• To give you a quote and calculate your website's price.
• To build your website and communicate with you about it.
• To manage your account and let you see your own quote.
• To take payments and keep records of the project.
• To keep the website safe and prevent misuse.

We process this information because it is necessary to deliver the website you asked for (performance of a contract), because you gave us permission when you submitted your brief or signed in (consent), and where the law requires us to keep records.

Who else sees your information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers we need to run Webify, each of which processes it on our instructions:

• Google — if you use "Sign in with Google", Google authenticates your identity. Google's own terms and privacy notices apply to your Google account and to the cloud services involved:

Some of these providers may process your information outside South Africa. Where they do, POPIA requires that the transfer is protected, and we rely on their contractual safeguards and published privacy terms to ensure this.

How long we keep it

We keep your account and quote information for as long as your project is active. After handover we keep only what we need for our own records and for any period the law requires, after which it is deleted or made anonymous.

Security

We use industry-standard measures — encrypted connections, access control and a managed cloud backend — to protect your information against loss, unauthorised access and disclosure. No system is perfect, so please use a strong, unique password and tell us straight away if you suspect your account has been compromised.

Your rights under POPIA

You have the right to:

• Ask what personal information we hold about you.
• Ask us to correct or delete it.
• Object to us processing it, or withdraw your consent.
• Complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa.
